The French company GTT has signed a new Mark V technical cooperation agreement with the industrial Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI). A few weeks ago, the French engineering company and Samsung Heavy Industries also signed a similar partnership contract. The agreement includes the development of major stainless steel (purchasing supply) and Invar's secondary shielding film development and the qualification of innovative welding (purchasing supply) robots. The robot optimizes the welding process and reduces welding time. After several years of research and development, Mark V technology has become an optimized Mark III system and its equivalent type of Mark III Flex technology. Due to the development of Mark III technology and Mark III Flex technology, Mark V technology consists of double insulation reinforced polyurethane foam. The new system also includes an innovative nickel-alloy steel corrugated secondary membrane and offers significant improvements in daily gasification rates. Mark V technology has been approved in principle by major classification societies. Philippe Berterottière, Chairman and CEO of GTT, stated, “We are very pleased to see Hyundai Heavy Industries carry out this important development plan. This will give us full confidence in the possibility of commercialization of Mark V technology in 2015.†At present, there are mainly two types of pure electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles in the market. Pure electric vehicles are completely powered by electricity and do not generate any exhaust emissions, thus having the lowest pollution. Hybrid electric vehicles can be driven by both fuel and electricity, and the assistance of electricity can reduce fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. Compared to the two, pure electric vehicles are more environmentally friendly and can better adapt to use in specific environments.
